Our collections are bound in 3 month sections from the 1930\'s up until 1961
(where they are bound in 2 month collections from that point on)
so the earlier editions are
particularly stout and quite dense weighing in at a lot more
as the earlier magazines also had a lot more pages and ads.Life was the magazine of several generations that sat on everyone\'s coffee table and showed through award winning pictures what was happening in the country and all around the world.
It focused equally on war, peace, history, disaster, crisis, politics, sports, space, new discoveries, drugs, trends, civil unrest and protest, racism, sexism, riots, film and celebrities, the arts, music, fashion, Science, geography, biology, psychology, innovations, the miraculous and the beautiful, the absurd
and the famous and the not so famous.The premise after it was taken over by Time in 1936 :
Life magazine was to be the first publication, with a focus on photographs, that enabled the American public,

These collections also have some incredible advertising and the advertisements have their own story to tell over the years.

They are all mostly in very good condition with minor marks, scuffs, folded pages and some page tears...and in some occasional cases loose or missing pages (whcih we try to make note of) If we missed anything major please let us know directly..We had approx 170 volumes to go through and were as careful as we could be.

They were bound by a library so there will be stamping and some marks and labels to be expected. Our original collection ranged from the 30\'s to the 80\'s. They are perfect for the collector, the historian, the photographer or as a present for someones birthday or particular month.
