Vintage Life Magazine - September 19, 1955 - Guys And Dolls

Hello,

Please offer with confidence. My partner and I have been selling on for over a decade, but only had one account in the past Recently we decided to start a second account just for her items, but please visit my account and rest assured you are getting the same service that my response represents. We have worked together on my account and will continue to work together on hers. Our original account username is zachar*2

LIFE Magazine September 19, 1955

Wonderful look back at the nation and the world as the Great Depression began to wind down, and events were unfolding that would lead up to World War II. Included are fantastic photos of political leaders, Movie Stars, Cigarette Ads, Classic Car Ads!

Excellent overall - very light surface wear, hard to find a nicer copy
I am listing hundreds of vintage Life Magazines from the 1930's and 1940's, please check my other sales.I got these Life Magazines from the original owner and most of them have been stored in "Life leather Binders" since they were purchased new 70 to 80+ years ago, so most of them are in exceptional condition, with only the very slightest wear. With that said, I will try describe the general condition of each magazine and point out any signification imperfections, but please understand, I didn't look at every single page of every single book and I could have overlooked a corner creased or something along these lines.Specific to the magazines, shipping for each additional book after the 1st one is $1.50 per book. If you would like to buy a generous number of books, I can probably do a bit better on the shipping, however I would say any additional shipping discounts would start at about the 10 books and up range. Book lots are not eligible for reduced shipping.

*Common sense sale rules*

…so you and I have a mutual understanding before you offer to eliminate any misunderstanding later.

1. Payments: DUE WITHIN 4 DAYS. A non-paying buyer alert will be filed after 4 days of non-payment; no exceptions. If you have an issue, contact me, I am reasonable.

2. Sales --U.S. ONLY— No International sales or shipping.

3. Shipping: Review the shipping charge and offer appropriately knowing that the shipping cost is part of your TOTAL cost of winning. I don’t get a deal from the USPS, I pay the same rates as everyone else.

a) Rate: I state a flat rate and you see this before you offer. If you win, you pay the shipping cost as stated plus your winning offer. I am frankly not interested in what YOU think I should charge for shipping. I state the cost upfront so you know what it is. If you feel the shipping charge is not a cost you are comfortable paying, then please offer elsewhere.

I don’t spend my time meticulously weighing and measuring packages before shipping. I make a good faith effort to charge enough to ensure I cover my costs which include:

If I underestimate the actual shipping cost, which sometimes happens, I will cover the additional charge. Alternatively, please do not send me a post sale email complaining, “Why did you charge $16 for shipping when the actual cost was only $12.50?” If this is typical of your buying habits, I would respectively encourage you to offer elsewhere.

b) Combined shipping: Inquire before offerding. I am happy to combine shipping on smaller lightweight items, but if you do not take the time to communicate with me prior to the close of an sale, then assume you will pay the shipping costs as stated for each item. Combined shipping and packaging is at MY discretion and I will not debate shipping costs AFTER an sale closes.

For combined shipping, I typically charge full shipping on the item with the highest stated shipping and 50% on the remaining items. I may not be able combine shipping on larger items.

c) Shipping Time: I ship items once midweek as my work schedule allows, usually Wednesday but not always, and on Saturday. If shipping time is critical on your item contact me before you offer. I am also a buyer on and like my purchases shipped timely as well, however, in addition to a family; I have a 40+ hour a week real job that occasionally requires travel away from home for a night or two, which can delay shipping by a day or two. I am not in control of delivery time after I drop items off at the post office. Most items to the West coast are shipped Parcel post as it is less expensive and saves you money, items shipped closer to where I live may be shipped Priority as it is sometimes the same price as Parcel. Parcel Post can take 7-10 days for delivery, after being dropped off. Please note: I am not a business, I do not have a "shipping department", I am one person selling my collectibles.

d) Insurance and Signature confirmation: I will include USPS insurance on most items over $100. I often ship higher priced items requiring your signature upon delivery. Particularly for signature confirmation items, I would ask you to inspect your package immediately upon delivery. If there is any damage due to shipping please address this with the postal carrier at the time of delivery. For items that are insured, any issues with item damage due to shipping will be resolved via the USPS.

e) Your shipping address: Items will only be shipped to the address on the PAYPAL details transaction page. Please make sure your PayPal address is correct. I am NOT responsible for additional shipping costs if your address is not correct on Paypal and your item is mailed to an incorrect address.

4. response: I have been an ’er since 1999 and have positive response as a fair and trustworthy seller and buyer. I will leave response for buyers after you have left response for me. Please contact me before leaving negative feed back; I will do my best to resolve any legitimate and reasonable issues. I appreciate your positive response, and will do what I can to work out any reasonable concerns regarding your purchase, but any abusive or threatening correspondence will be immediately reported to and our conversation is over.

6. buyers with less than 10 responses please email before offerding. Most of my problem transactions are coming from inexperienced buyers with little or no response and I would like to hear from you first.

7. Questions: Ask questions BEFORE offerding. I am happy to answer. I usually check my email a couple times a day, usually morning and evening. I am not in front of my computer 24 hours a day, so if you are need of a response, please don’t wait until the last minute to contact me.

8. Returns: I do not accept returns. If you have a concern, after you win or receive your item, please contact me to discuss, but know that returns are something that will likely not happen. There are too many people with buyer’s remorse and I cannot accept returns because of this reason.

I truly am sorry for the exhaustive (blah, blah, blah) disclaimer but I have been buying and selling on for well over 10 years and I've discovered that there are many sensitive, sometimes immature, and even dishonest people out there so I am writing all this stuff so there is no room for hurt feelings, disappointment or misunderstanding. I strive to make every transaction easy and enjoyable and I trust that these simple steps will make our experience a positive one.

Thank you for looking.
