Vintage Mackinac Bridge Frosted Ice T Lemonade Tom Collins Tumblers X 4 1958 For Sale

Vintage Mackinac Bridge Frosted Ice T Lemonade Tom Collins Tumblers X 4 1958

Vintage Mackinac Bridge Frosted Ice T Lemonade Tom Collins Tumblers x4 1958

Gas Station Fill Up Gift 16 oz.

From the great mitten state called Michigan comes 4 pieces of gas station

rewards history: which took the state by storm. (Then as well as now)

These glasses were "free" give away’s with the purchase of ten gallons of gas from Leonard Refineries. Leonard was a small independent gas company founded in 1936 in Alma, Michigan. Later absorbed by Total Gas, and eventually by the present day gas station known as: Speedway.

During the late 1950s, (1958) Leonard gas developed a new sales strategy that they called "Going Places in Michigan."

A key element of the campaign was Leonard Refineries gas sponsorship of a beloved and popular TV show called: "Michigan Outdoors." (my Uncle Ed, from Ed’s Sport Shop in Baldwin, MI was a regular guest on the show)

To raise the hype and to promote Michigan Tourism many promotional items, including these Michigan souvenir glasses were offered as part of the era of “Touring and Michigan’s greatest attractions” featured. One of the most popular of the 3 glass set was this very Mackinaw Bridge frosted tumbler. Offered and promoted by Leonard: The Mackinac Bridge

As a child my fondness for the tumbled embedded in my soul- I love and cherish them to this very day.

Not to date myself, I remember the thrill and excitement of being asked to hold securely (as a child) the prized gas station glass earned by filling up ones gas tank from the ever famous Leonard/Tulsa Gas Station.

Not only were these tall frosted tumblers graphically impressive, they were really neat to hold. The frosty outer layer truly presents an awesome feel to it, the painted graphics of our beloved Mackinac Bridge totally intriguing.

One stop filled your gas tank and providedsensory load with the magnificence of these truly vintage tumblers.

Each tumbler stands an exhilarating high of 6 ¾ inches in height. The Mighty Mack glasses hold a quenching 16 ounces of refreshment.

Truly an American icon that sadly gets “under noticed” and “under-appreciated” by our country, this bridge is magnificent with an historically icon history as big as the span herself.

To treat yourself to a magnificent travel journey without leaving your home, pull up the Mackinac Bridge on your computer and be blasted with the wonder of this beautiful lady.

Impressive enough, Mike Rowe and the Dirty Jobs crew did an excellent show coverage of the bridge, inside and out.

As a child I watched her weekly progress unfold right before our very eyes on the ever famous “Captain Kangaroo Show.”

Being from the great state of Michigan, this was excitement beyond comprehension. (The Mighty Mack was like our video game addiction)

Special in our hearts, exquisite on a table or bar, these tumblers are worth their weight in gold.

This sale is for a set of 4 glasses.

NEVER PUT THESE IN THE DISHWASHER, IT FADES THE BRILLIANT PAINT.

THINGS I WOULD LIKE YOU TO KNOW

Painfully witnessing both my Rescued Pekingese’s battling and succumbing to afflictions which plagued and ravished their bodies: from the neglect and abuse at the hands of humans.

I have decided through my traumatic journey of grief over the loss of both dogs to continue my voyage of dedication and purpose: with my unrelenting commitment to rescued hearts in the vast and reprehensible world of neglected and abused dogs.

In my soul searching (and the guidance of the Lords hands) I have been introduced to the world of a Rescue in need one of a different circumstance than what I was previously exposed to: one of a retired show dog in need of re-homing.

At this time I am honored and blessed to introduce my newest Rescued heart: Kaiser M. Wilfram aus Deutschland (Germany).

Kaiser is a charming 2 ½ year old pedigree Pekingese of superior blood line. However unable to climb to the top in his breed classification as swiftly as his siblings- long story short: he needed to find a forever home.

After the lengthy transatlantic flight from Europe to the mitten state Kaiser is settling in to his “forever home” with vigor. Not a rescue of neglected or abuse: but one of travel, primping and for the most part selected cage life.

With each passing day Kaiser is discovering the wonders of having his own yard with 24/7 love encouragement and companionship. The gorgeous thick natural show coat is in his past, comfort and ease rules his everyday existence.

With lightning speed Kaiser has eagerly becoming an important part of our life and family, still to this day and a regal ambassador for his breed and pedigree.

Some stories have a very happy ending, and this is one. However most are no so lucky.

I invite you to take a few moments and look over the P.C.F. website (Pekinese Charitable Foundation, Inc.) you might find the love of your life listed.

In today’s world little dogs are taking the blunt of frustration and hate: which seems to be free floating in our society. The organization is swamped with dogs in need.

Please do something today to improve the life of a dog!

Perhaps together we can stop the abuse and neglect at the hands of those cruel monsters that injure and maim those who have no voice.

If you see abuse and neglect:

REPORT IT! BE PART OF THE SOLUTION TO STOP THIS INJUSTICE!

LET THE HEALING BEGIN WITH YOU!
