WONDERFUL UNIQUE AND RARE MARGOT DE TAXCO MEXICAN STERLING SILVER ARTICULATED ENAMEL SNAKE BRACELET WITH SAFETY CHAIN-GREAT FIND!
WEIGHS 50 GRAMS
This is truly a wonderful and collectible vintage sterling silver and enamel bracelet! This wonderful piece was designed and made by Margot Van Voorhies. Margot opened her workshop in Taxco in 1948. Her jewelry designs were frequently based on pre-Columbian themes. This is a sought after design by Margot. The articulated enamel snake bracelet is a great find! The enameling is a confetti green, with darker green enamel accents as well as black enamel eyes. The snake is very realistic, with the double tongue coming out of his mouth. Each of the snake's scales are also very realistic in the bracelet's design. Each section of the snake is hinged, with a secure closure. The hallmarks on the back are somewhat worn, although Margot De Taxco, 5554 is visible, as well as the sterling hallmark. The enameling on the top portion of the bracelet is in great condition. Although, there is worn enameling on the back of the snake's head. This enamel loss is not apparent when the bracelet is worn. The bracelet has a secure safety chain. This bracelet really stands out when worn.
