This magnificent Margot de Taxco Mexican Sterling SilverBraceletis such an impressive creation thatthe design is featured in the book "Margot Van Voorhies, The Art of Mexican Enamelwork" by Penny Morrill on page 139, plate VIII-10. Margot calledit "Linear Serpent" and as design number 5109 it represents the ninth design she produced in silver (her silver designs begin with number 5100) and is one of her earlier pieces.Created in heavy thick silver with deeply recessed lines, it measures7" long by 3/4" wide and it weighs ahefty 38.2grams of sterling silver. Hallmarked "Margot de Taxco, 5109, Sterling Made in Mexico" along with the eagle stamp. It is in good original vintage condition with no signs of damage or repair ~ only minor signs of wear and a bit of tarnish and it has developed a lovely deep patina that beautifully accents the ornate design. The button topped push in clasp keeps securely closed and there is an attached safety chain for added security.
