Vintage Mid Century Modern Orb Sterling Silver Bracelet By Otto R. Bade, Cool For Sale
Vintage Mid Century Modern ORB Sterling Silver Bracelet by Otto Robert Bade. This hand made space age looking bracelet is a wonder. It is in good used condition with some surface scratches, and someone tried to polish it and took off some of the patina. It is 6 1/2" from end to end and goes from 1" wide down to 5/8". It weighs 36.5 grams. There is a continuous sterling wire that starts at one end, winds around to the other end to come back to center, where a silver ball caps it off. The inside is marked "Orb" in script and "Sterling". Otto is a self taught silversmith, who in 1941 moved from Nebraska to New York City. He worked with the copper manufacturingcompany Rebajes. They were the first masters of copper jewelry and crafts. Otto started Orb Silversmiths in 1957, and eventually bought Rebajes.
