Mid-century modern design molded plywood trash waste can. This is made by Saito Wood in Japan. It was originally designed in 1950 by the late Isamu Saito. Saito developed his method for molding plywood during WWII in the Japanese army. He first designed small wood gas tanks, as metals were in short supply during the war. After the war, he started his company, which is not run by his grandson. The trash basket has the Saito sticker. It measures 12\" tall x 10\" in diameter at the top, 7\" in diamter at the base.
