Great looking artist signed covered crock by Westrom.
This piece measures 8 1/2\" across, 6 1/2\" tall with lid.
Golden tan glaze with brown speckles.
Heavy, weighs 4 pounds!
There are a couple of nicks on the lid top-see pictures.
There is also on line on the base.
This does NOT go thru the wall of the pottery, possibly happened during the manufacturing (firing process.)
About the artist/piece:
This is a beautiful vintage Canadian ceramic by Connie Westrom. Sporting heavily reduced, dark brown groggy stoneware clay and iron spotted buttermilk glazes. its a brilliant example of 1970s Canadian pottery.
This 70\'s piece is high fired stoneware fired in a gas kiln.Connie Westrom started making pottery in 1971. Connie met Bob Pike in 1978 and eventually married and started working with him.
Connie was recognized by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts and was awarded a Projects Visual Arts grant to attend NCECA, the National Clay Conference in Tampa, Florida.
\"My approach to working with clay evolves as I investigate function and aesthetics (an appreciation of beauty). Shapes and designs build upon themselves, and new versions of form and decoration filter through the body of work to refresh the process. \" Terms of Sale:
