Vintage Musician Tongue and Wreath Belt Plate, Non-Dug

Description

This is a fairly nice non-dug Musician belt plate. It is made of cast brass and is relatively heavy. It appears that there is an old repair where the tongue disc has been re-attached to the belt loop. This plate shows good detail, stippling still shows on the tongue and wreath and some gilt remains.

Measurements:

Width - 87mm

Height - 54mm

This Belt Plate is from a Civil War collection that was assembled over the past 40 years. This plate has a piece of tape on the back that indicates that it came from Dalton Ga. and may be Confederate used.

Since I am no expert on Civil War belt plates and I have no proof that this plate was used during the Civil War or Confederate , I am selling all of this plate as vintage.
