Up for offer is a vintage package of Wamsutta Supercale/Percale 100% cotton queen size flat sheet.It measures 90\"x102\" and is a deep gorgeous purple. This was made in the USA of 100% cotton.Percale stands for the weaving process in which the fabric is woven. In percale sheets, the yarns are woven in one over one, unlike Sateen where it\'s four over one.
The one over one (percale) weave creates a much even, stronger, denser & softer, yet crisp fabric which can stand the test of time and gets a better and better feel the more you wash it. Percale sheets are cotton sheets known for their signature tight weave. The word “percale” refers to the specific type of weave used to produce the sheet and not the material it’s made from. The percale weave is durable and smooth to the touch. Percale sheets may feel softer after each washing. Even after years of use, these sheets still resist pilling, especially in thread counts over 400. If you are old enough (hint: Over 50!) you will remember your grandmother\'s sheets that were so cool and crisp and lasted forever...they were most likely percale.
