Vintage Nutone Door Bell Art Deco Long Chimes With Nightlight 1930's- 1940's For Sale
Vintage Nutone Art Deco Long Bell Door ChimesIt is functional!!!With night lightExcellent addition to your estate. This is a 1930's era door chime that utilizes a synchronous motor that rotates through a set of contacts to activate little solenoids to hit the chimes. Very clever design. It also has the entryway nightlight that has a pull chain so you can turn it off. Very nice tone. The top mechanism is covered with an art deco aluminum 2 piece cover. The chimes measure 38, 41, 43, 50 inches. Please note that this is well over 70 years old and even though it is in pretty damn good shape for it's age it does have some scratches and wear. the strings that hold the chimes are getting a little long in the tooth so you may want to think about replacing them. As you can see I used a vinyl wire tie for the long one which worked quite well. Also the electrical wiring , although safe should be installed by a qualified electrician.
