Orrefors Ariel Bowl
This is a fine piece of Mid-Century Art Glass. The designer is Edvin Öhrström, for Orrefors and the pattern/technique is Ariel.

The bowl is slightly triangular in shape, and measures 10cm, 4 inches in diameter. The stripes are a deep blue. The base is marked Orrefors Ariel the reference number 1711E, which dates it to 1952 and Edvin Ohrstrom, the designer.
Ariel was a glass technique developed byGustav Bergvist, Vicke Lindstrand andEdvin Ohrstrom when they were working at Orrefors. There is interesting background information on the techniquehere.
This piece is invery goodcondition. There are some very slight marks on the surface, possibly there since it was made. A lovely, rarepiece of Swedish Art Glass.
