Being offered is an exquisite Vintage or Antique Japanese Bronze/Brass Enamel Champleve Figural Handle Vase. It is in excellent vintage condition with tiny imperfections and wear consistent with its age. I do not know its exact age, it was an estate sale find and I was told that it was an antique.The handles are figural perhaps a griffin-like creature, somewhat resembling a dog. There is an ornate floral motif throughout with an intermittent geometric weave-like pattern.This vase was once a lamp or was about to become a lamp as it has no bottom and would probably have been mounted on a base. Used \"as is\" it could perhaps be placed over a short candle (although I have never used it this way—just a thought). This vase/lamp measures 9 1/2\" and would probably be mounted on an approximately 2\" base.The widthmeasuresapproximately 6\". It is a very heavy piece weighing in at nearly 3 1/2 lb. unpackaged. I have not cleaned nor polished the piece and leave that for the buyer to decide. This is a wonderfuland beautifully crafted piece that would be great displayed as is or used as a lamp if one chooses to convert it.
