A bit of Chinese History for investigation. I once lived at \"Geary\'s Gap\" an area as you approached Canberra from Goulburn you encounter Lake George and as you drive up the foothills from the Lake this area is known locally as \"Geary\'s Gap\". Not far from here it is reputed that the Chinese had a Ceramic manufacturing and kiln site near Lake George that made Chinese Ginger Jars, 7 or 8 sided jars with flower motifs on them with a cork top and lid held down with string to keep the ginger contents inside. I am not sure where the ginger was grown. I have dug hundreds of these Ginger Jars around the Parkes area and many other sites where gold diggers were active in the 1800\'s.
I have never stopped to try to find the site but would be interested if a local archaeological group had a dig around there.
