This vintage FAO Schwarz catalog is a showcase of the best toys that were on the market in 1963. Schwarz always had (and still does) the best and highest quality toys from around the world. Regardless of what you collect, from Britains and Dinky Toys to games, Steiff, Playskool, Madame Alexander dolls, American pressed steel trucks or Legos, you will find it here. A sampling includes Japanese battery-operated toys, Corgi, Matchbox and Dinky Toys cars, trucks and military vehicles, pedal cars, Mattel cap guns, Remco Monkey Division mortar, bazooka and Monkey Gun, child-size play military uniforms (remember, US ground troops had just been committed to Vietnam in 1963), plastic model kits, including cars, airplanes and ships, Disney toys, records and record players, all sorts of dolls, doll houses, furniture and playsets, Schuco toys (including diving submarine and the Disneyland Monorail Set), Buddy-L, Tonka and Nylint pressed steel trucks, hobby horses, musical instruments, play suits, sports equipment, toy guns, model trains (including Lionel and marklin), steam engine kits, all sorts of games and much, much more. The inserted 34 page “Books” catalog is smaller tha the catalog (8-1/4” X 9”) includes all the top children’s books of the year as well as a section of Book of Knowledge reproduction cast iron banks and other repro cast iron toys (some of which often confuse dealers at toy shows and on today).

Condition of this catalog is excellent for being 50 years old. The covers are clean with no rips, tears or splits. The staple binding is intact with no loose or missing pages. All interior pages have no rips, tears or stains.

A great piece of Baby-Boomer nostalgia that will make an excellent addition to any collection.
