Overview: Up for sale is this beautiful original oil painting on canvas by listed Danish artist, Fritz Jacobsen (b. 1914). It depicts a lake scene. The painting is signed by Jacobsen at lower right, and appears to be dated from the 1940\'s or 1950\'s. It is in excellent condition, and truly shows fine brushwork and a keen impressionistic style. Jacobsen is a well-listed artist, who was born in Copenhagen and exhibited throughout Denmark, Europe and the U.S. This is a truly beautiful piece. The painting comes framed and ready to hang. There is a brief biography, verso, which provides the following information:
\"Fritz Jacobsen: Born on the 15 January 1914 in Copenhagen. A son of the artist Johan Jacobsen.
Education: A pupil of his father and of his father\'s brother, Ludvig Jacobsen.
Exhibitions: Malersammenslutningen af 1927.
Kunst og Erhvervsudstillingen i Aarhushallen i 1939.
Moreover he has some separate exhibitions in Copenhagen.
Already in his first works Fritz Jacobsen joined his father\'s and his father\'s brother\'s naturalistic-impressionistic interpretation, and they became his models. And still since his first works he has stuck to the vigorous naturalism stressing the importance of the weather in the scenic sentiment.\"
Condition: The piece is in excellent condition. There is very minor paint loss and wear on the painting itself. Please see the photos. The frame is in good condition and has a very nice vintage look.
