Vintage Pana, Illinois Coca-cola Bow-tie Bottle, Early 1900's, Very Rare For Sale
This sale is for a 6 oz. early Bow-Tie Coca-Cola clear bottle - a very rare Pana, Illinois bottle. I am listing this for a friend of ours who is a bottle collector. He wrote up the description for me since I know absolutely nothing about vintage soda bottles!! Here's what he says: This is a rare, rare clear glass bottle -- I have only seen one of these in my 30 years of collecting. The front reads Midwest; below that under the bow-tie, in script, Coca Cola; BOTTLING CO.; PANA, ILLS., Cap. 6 oz. Under this is another ribbon/bow-tie. This has a ribbon/bow-tie on the shoulder and on the heel. On the back of the bottle in script it reads Purity and on the heel are the numbers 3161-28. On the bottom of the bottle is a large "P" with a number 1 above and a diamond shape below (Owen Glass possible glassmaker mark). This bottle has light case-wear with a few small nicks - none major. There are two very small chips on the lip of the top. Does need a good cleaning. Bottle is approximately 7½" tall.
I have added more pictures below - I had difficulty capturing really good details on this bottle - clear glass is very difficult to photograph. Please feel free to ask questions. I probably can't answer them for you but I can put the owner in touch with you and he can tell you anything you need to know. I can tell you this looks like a really fantastic bottle to me!!
