Vintage Parlor Guitar C. Bruno & Son/stromberg :
You are looking at a vintage parlor guitar. The label in the sound hole reads C. Bruno & Son "The Vernon". It is off center so I thought someone might have put it their butit looks authentic andi've seen this label on different stringed instruments from C. Bruno before. It is probably a Stromberg-Voisinet made for the C. Bruno company. I'm not sure of the exact year of manufacturing but believe it to be from the 1930s or earlier. I have seen many from this period that look similar. It has an interesting headstock. I have seen this shape before but they are usually slotted. Each tuner peg head shaft is slid through a hole on the side of the headstock (see pics). I have been looking for years on the internet and have never seen another like it.The top of the headstock on the back is worn down.It has a "V" shape neck. There is a long crack on the top bass side of the body and 3 others on the treble side that were repaired at some time. The lower part of the body top has what looks like a patch to cover up some cracks(?).There is a slight gap on the neck heal bass side where it meets the body (see pic). The bridge may have been re-glued. The action is a just under 3/16 inches at the 12th fret. There are many dings and scratches on this guitar but it still looks nice. It has a great sound. Does not come with a case. Sold As Is.
