Vintage Perko Brass Boat Signal Lantern:

This is an original Perko Boat Signal Lantern from the mid 20th century. It has the original black paint from the manufacturer, but is ALL brass underneath. It is complete with the original Perko fountain. It has been in my personal lantern collection for several years. The bullseye glass lens is perfect, and the lantern shows very little use. The thumb spring is tight and it is hard to move the sliding door. This can be remedied, but it has nothing to do with the way it shows. This is an excellent example of this lantern, and in fine condition. There are very few of these in brass and are therefore most desirable to collectors compared to the galvanized iron examples. At this point the lantern has not been cleaned other than a light dusting before the photos were taken. If this were cleaned and waxed it would really highlight the black vs. the small parts of brass that show. The Perko logo is embossed on the back plate where the handles attach.
