A offer has been entered, so the description will appear here:
This is an early, vintage Jewish New Year postcard. Even though the greeting is, "Gluckliches Neujahr", it shows a young child mailing a Valentine? ina fantasy mailbox, surrounded by lucky 4 leaf clovers, all beneath a green flowered heart (Valentine?), pulled by doves of peace? The Star of David is featured neartop ofcard, and there is writing in Hebrew below the mailbox. Eight "boat-candles" are lined up near bottom of card.
Backside: Card was sent to Mr. A. Elman in Providence, Rhode Island in 1909, from Hudson Terminal Station in New York City. Some avid stamp collector removed the main stamp long ago, but there is still a remnant of a stamp next to the "Due 4 Cents" indicator. A written message is present (Hebrew?). Publisher info: Serie 501. Made in Austria.
Condition: Good to Very Good, with a little corner wear.
Shipping info: Postage is $1.95 if the winning buyer is in the U.S. Otherwise, please email me for postage calculation. Thank you.
