It has a groove all around the top edge to catch juices. This bread board measures about 21 inches long, 14-1/4 inches wide, and 3/4 of an inch thick. This has cutting marks, edge chipping, checking, and stains. If I were going to use it, I would sand it down, but I didn\'t want to remove the patina in case the buyer wants to display it.
