Vintage Rocor Motor Oil Can 2gal. Richfield Oil Corp Of Ny Rare:
Vintage Rocor Motor Oil Can 2 Gallon Richfield Oil Corp of New York(RARE)for Service MLNice example of old motor oil memoribilia. Can has Excellent color, but has a little dent up on back side. I think one could probably pop that out somehow, but I wanted to leave it alone. Would look very good displayed on a shelf with all your other Motor Oil Cans Please look at pictures for detail. I am not an expert in oil cans, I am just offering this nice piece from a large collection.
I would give this can a Grade 7and or 8 ( Please note that grading of oil cans, as with most collectibles, is subjective at best)Please see my “Can Grading Guideline” below that describes the cans condition, also make sure to look at all of the photos. I make sure to take the best possible photos to show you the can from all sides, top & bottom. The last photo shows the cans bottom and final side. A can that I may consider to be in Grade 9 condition may only be in Grade 8 condition to someone else or the other way around. We leave the final decision to you, the collector. Good luck offerding & Thank you! My Oil Can Grading Guideline Grade 9 This can may have scratches or rubbing that would have to be looked for, and may have very minor sun fade. Grade 8 This can may have up to 10% of can, not normally on the face, may show light damage (dings), including rubbing, scratches or sun fade. Grade 7 This is the last grade in the excellent category. This can may have up to 20% of can, may show very heavy scratches, rubbing and fading or discoloration from chemicals; top and bottom may show rust and discoloration. Grade 6 More than 20%, but not over 40% of the surface may show scratches, rubbing, sun fade, and rust. The design will show and display well but may have pin holes in the top and bottom. Grade 5 Same condition as Grade 6 but will have dents over less than 40% of the can. Pin hole rust on can face and body may be present. Grade 4 More than 40% but not over 60% of the can may show scratches, rust, dents, sun fade, and discoloration. The face of the can is still displayable. Grade 3 60% to 80% of the can will have heavy damage with severe rust holes; up to 40% of the can will have damage to top and face. Grade 2 Will show enough color and detail to be put in the right group of cans by brand. Major rust and/or damage will be present.
I would rate this can a 7 or a subjective 8
My observation-various size dents-scratching-excellent bottom-top w/discoloration intact w/info and some face pitting
