Made in the Fedoskino village, the hand-painted miniature lacquer painting appears to be illuminated with an underlayment of silver. Painted, using very fine brushes have resulted in a finished painting with all the detail and emotional quality of a true work of art. Originally painted on canvas by Ivan Shishkin in 1889, \"Morning in the Woods\"shows a mother bear watching her three cubs playing on a fallen tree. The original hangs in Moscow\'s Tretyakov Gallery. The lacquered box has a hinged lid, slightly rounded corners with red lacquer inside the box. It is signed in the left and right margins and has the numbers 1949 (year??) in the center margin. The backside is stamped in gold withMade in USSR,also includes a paper label/tag inside the box.
MEASUREMENTS: The box is approximately 6 inches by 4 1/4 inches and 2 inches high. CONDITION: EXCELLENT. Free from damage including chips, cracks, scratches or repairs.
