Montblanc is without doubt the most desired writing instrument in the world, and with a good reason. The design, engineering, build quality, reliability of Montblanc pens are considered as some of the best in the world, and by many people as THE best writing instruments on the planet.
The pen offered here is the legendary 252 model, and one of the first 50's Montblanc pens with a slip on cap for a fast deployment. It is also one of the most complex build pens, with almost 20 parts to it, a true master craftsmanship as most of these were hand made. This model is famous for its reliability, ease of use and stunning design and functionality. The pen has enraged clip, and two cap rings for beter crack protection. The pen has perfect form factor, superb balance, handling and feel, easy to use yet powerful and reliable writing instrument. The pen comes with it original flexible B broad nib, placed on an ebonite feeder and feed ring, very flexible and with a gentle push it will write sizes up to BBB, thus the produced writing is simply amazing. If slightly rotated while writing so only the edge of the Broad nib is stroked under any vertical angle, it will write thinner lines of F or even thinner, so basically the pen can mimic thinner sizes and produce amazing writing at any desired line thickness. The "B" imprint is located on the turning knob; "252 Montblanc" inscribed on the ring, indicating later production 1957-1958. The pen is functionally flawless with some minor cosmetic issues. There some micro scratches on the inner side of the ink window probably caused by dried ink and there is one small split on the side of the top cap star which is not compromising what so ever. Aside from those the pen has no cracks, scratches, dings or similar issues. Piston is smooth and all trimmings are gold filled with no gold ware off. One of the best looking Montblancs of the 50's. This is why fountain pens are so fun and so wonderful to write with, they simply reflect your personality and style on the paper. Fountain pens also greatly improve your handwriting as they encourage you to experiment and they adapt to your style. This is why almost everything written with a fountain pen looks great.
