Ridgway Pottery was actually founded in 1744 by Ralph Ridgway. However, brothers George and Job Ridgway registered Ridgway Potteries Limited in Staffordshire, England in 1792. Ridgway merged with Booth & ColClough China Company in the 1940s.

This cup has a painting of Eton College viewed from across the River Thames. The picture is reminiscent of a painting by Canaletto that was painted in 1754.

The other side of the cup has a painting of the Scheldt River. It looks similar to The Scheldt River at Flessinghe painted by Hermanus Koekkoek Snr in the mid 1800s.

We aren\'t 100% sure of the date of this piece, but similar piecesby Ridgway seem to date to the 1880s to the early 1900s.
