Vintage Rosary 14k Gold (44.6 Grams) Creed Crucifix, Beautiful Piece For Sale
This sale is for one rosary with a Creed crucifix, which is made purely of 14K gold.
I recently inherited this, and here is what I know about the item:
Weight:Total weight is 44.6 gram (14K gold, tested by local jeweler).
Marks: It is stamped "14K CREED".
Length: Total necklace length is about 29", drop is 7-1/2" (including length of crucifix).
Crucifix: Measures 2-3/16" in length and 1-3/8" wide.
Decades: This is a 5 decade rosary.
Beads: These are 3/16" (close to 5mm) in size, with the larger ones being 1/4" (just over 6mm).
Age: My best guess is that it is from the 1950s or 1960s -- but no later than the 1970s, as it has been in storage for decades.
Condition: Pre-owned, and shows some light wear.
This seems to be quite a rare piece, and the quality really is fantastic. While doing my research on this rosary I have yet to see another 14K gold rosary with a Creed crucifix in this style offered for sale on
, or anywhere else for that matter.. so this is your lucky day if you've been waiting for one of these!
UPDATE! I have been told by a rosarymaker here on that this rosary was likely hand-made, using a Creed crucifix, and is made in a fashion which makes it much more durable than the typical commercial rosary. Here is what she said: "commercial Rosaries were assembled with jump rings, but this one is put together with handmade wire wrapped 'bows' - which are the hall mark of a 'handmade' custom Rosary. Also, each bead has a wire wrap around the ends - again possibly custom made - the eyepins won't open and allow the Rosary to come apart. These two features make this a Rosary that is much stronger than a commercial product."
The item will be shipped insured via USPS Priority Mail within 1 business day of payment being received.
Please feel free to ask any questions regarding this rosary. Happy offerding!
