Who We Are
Assistance League was established in Los Angeles in the early 1900s. It was the first nonprofit, nonsectarian, nonpolitical organization begun in the West.
And, it was the first organization of its kind to recognize the potential of volunteers in helping those less fortunate achieve a better, more meaningful life. Today Assistance League has 26,000 members nationwide committing over 2.6 million volunteer hours and $36 million yearly to local communities.
Our chapter was incorporated in 1989 and was chartered in 1992 as the 81st chapter of National Assistance League.
