Vintage Seiko Quartz Chrono Watch,15-jewel Mov't,cal.7a38-7069, Most Excellent For Sale
This Seikoquartz chrono watch is of the top most quality as theFirst generation type.
This model is the "True Chronograph" with 3-button opperation, and 1/10 sec. sub-dial.
The sub-dial at 3:00 position really spins at 1-revolution per second, measuring 1/10 second incraments. Very few chronos do this any longer !
This 15-J model is the Superior one to later Seiko chronographs which have (no) jewels. The newer ones wear-out faster due to some humidity having an effect on the gear shafts with no jewels.
This one has had little use, as it was just purchased to have in my collection since 1986. It was just kept active to preserve it.
Thismodel has becomerare, especially in this primo condition.
This isthe best one on , and has just had a new Energizer battery installed expertly.
I seen a couple of others that are listed for close to $300., but were missing the bezel & crystal, & have bad non-working buttons & chrono, and very weathered dials. It is worth the price, because it is the best, out-side of the high-priced Swiss models.
It comes witha perfect original owner's book.
It is the equivalent of of the Sports 100 model, since it has had the larger diameter stem & seal from the Sports 100 model installed.
It is made of allSt.Steel, and base metal bezel.
The dial is a light silver color, and the hands are black out-lined.
The crystal is perfect and is a Hardlex 32mm diameter.
The watch case is large enough to be in style, at 37mm x 42mm in size.
The case & crystal are only 10mm thick.
It's superb bracelet is a trim 19mm wide at the watch & 16mm at the buckel, and will fit a 7-3/4" wrist.
I especially like the Opalescent sub-dials.
If you like it's look, you also would be getting a most superb and very long-life watch, due to it's15-Jeweled movement, 4-stepper motors, and total quality.
Well, more than enough said, good offerding !! Thanks for Looking.
