Vintage! Shinzo Nippon HandpaintedPorcelain Cobalt Chocolate Pot with 4 Cups & Saucersc19thLovely antique cobalt chocolate pot with 4 cups and saucers.Cobalt blue around the edges with lovely hand painted roses, gold gilding and enamel on the pot and each delicate cup and saucer. The porcelain is in excellent condition with no nips cracks or chips.One of the cups has a crack on top edge (see pics), otherwise all other pieces are chip and crack free.There are no signs of wear to the gold gilt, enamel or paint. Very lovelyrequisitepieces and quite old.The roses are pink and blue and hand painted with a little enameled accents in the rose bloom (white dots). Lots of gold gilded detailing.Pot measures approx. 10\" tall from the base to the top of the lid 6 3/4\" at widest point. 4 cups and saucers also in very good condition c 19th or before.
Nippon generally refer to Japanese wares made during the period of 1891 to 1921. Nippon, meaning Japan, identified the country of origin to comply with American importation restrictions.Bottom Contains; SHINZO Elephant & Nippon Marking
