Description:
This listing is for an Ornate Silver Plate Oval Serving or Butlers Tray with 2 attached Handles. It has an etched Baroque style design on the tray with a very detailed design around the outer rim. The handles also have a scroll-like design. I do not find any marks or brand on this tray. This tray measures approximately 21\" from end of handle to end of handle, the tray itself is 17\" and about 13.5\" across.
This item was acquired from a private home and has been on display for many years. It has been well cared for. Both handles are sturdy and intact. I did lightly polish this tray looking for marks or a brand name. I see some light topical scratches due to normal use and wear. There is also a small seam or split in the thin outer edge, I assume where the 2 ends meet and were attached (see pictures 4 & 5). I think this is Silver plate and may be over copper, but I do not know for sure. Picture 3 and 11 do show 2 small minor abrasions. I have also blurred myself out in a few pictures, this is not to cover up anything but me. This is a unique piece with character and charm. It weighs about 2 lb. 12 ounces.
