Vintage Stone Top Enameled Sterling Silver Thimble

German *Mid 20th Century

This nice solid silver thimble is German with an enameled band featuring hand painted roses.It is set with a moonstone colored top with dimpled indentations. The band is marked "925" which indicates sterling grade silver (925/1000 pure).This enamel style, where an engine turned design in the silver shows through the translucent background enamel, is known as guilloche enamel.

The condition is mint, in round with no damage to the silver, enamel or the stone top. It's about an American size 10 (16.5 mm diameter opening). It was part of a collection that's been in storage since 1960 so I know it's at least 50+ year old.
