Vintage Stromberg Voisinet Parlor Classical Acoustic Guitar :
This sale is for one vintage 1920s Stromberg Voisinet Parlor Acoustic Guitar !
This guitar was made sometime in the 1920's, and has remained in remarkable condition !
Stromberg was the company that eventually became Kay in the 1930's, but this guitar is prior to the name change.
This guitar was made in Chicago, Illinois, USA !
The guitar was purchased for a restoration project, but never really felt the need.
It is in great condition, and plays very well !
The history is not really known, and I would love to be able to tell you more, but here is what is known.
It has a Spruce top, which gives off an excellent tone ! It projects very well !
The top is fully bound with a checkerboard binding that is quite unusual, and looks fantastic !
The top is, also, decorated by hand with fancy floral patterns !
The sides are apparently made of birch.
The neck is a 12 fret to the body, 18 fret pearwood fingerboard, which looks a lot like ebony, with pearl dot inlays.
The tuners have been replaced at some point, but the originals are included, as shown.
The neck is a V cut, which feels remarkably comfortable, even for extended playing.
It is 1-3/4" at nut, with a 24-1/4" scale.
The bridge appears to be ebony, and is set perfectly.
Overall, this guitar is in fine shape for being nearly 100 years old !
