Vintage Survivor 1949 Seeburg M100-a 100 100a Jukebox Juke Box Coin Op 78 Record For Sale
you been looking for that near mint survivor quality 1949 Seeburg Happy Days style M100-A jukebox? This
is a nice original survivor that is from a Midwest family. This machine was in their house for years where we picked it up from. These machines are scarce, especially not converted to 45 records. This is still on 78 and may be one of the best sounding 78 plays around due to a magnetic cartridge that Seeburg designed into their machines. Please scroll down and enjoy the 70+ photos. If you cannot view all the photos, please click here.
We are excited to have a number of rare soda, jukebox, pinball and mechanical arcade machines and rare signs at sale this and next week, just in time for the Chicagoland Antique Advertising, Slot-Machine & Jukebox Show where delivery is available. Below is a video of the machine in action:
Seeburg came out with this machine in 1949 and it revolutionized the jukebox industry. the M100A was years ahead of its time. The Andrews mechanism allowed the records to be stored and played vertically, allowing a long row of discs. This jukebox had a selection of one hundred. Miller's exterior casing was no longer tubes and curves, instead it featured straight lines and very angular lines.
Mechanically, it selects, cycles and plays a song. We have not tested this machine beyond playing a several records. The amp sounds fairly good and appears to have been rebuilt at some point as the caps look newer. It is on 78 RPM, no records are included.
Note the light inside was replaced with a smaller one but this can easily be reversed. No cabinet keys are included and the back door as a slight warp on the left side. Cosmetically, it is a phenomenal survivor. The sides appear to be original although there is some slight flaking of finish as you can see. The patina is superb! The photos do a great job documenting the condition. We could not find any reproduction parts on this box. Note the phenomenal shape of the original chrome, trim, paint and glass.
This example would make a great addition to
anyone’s rec room, bar room, collection, media room, or arcade. Best of all, there is . We will let the market determine the value on this RARE piece. Best of luck in the sale.
Additional sale Details
Because of it’s age and the above, it is sold
strictly as-is-as shown. That being said, please see my response and offer
with confidence. If you have not owned a jukebox before, these are not
CD players, and being 50 years old can be temperamental and are not
meant for continuous use all day long. These are meant for occasional
use and not for continuous or bar usage.
In addition, there are scrapes
and scuffs on the box as you can see in the photos. The good news is
that they reproduce most of the jukebox in the event of a problem, and
there are many people that repair them. The most likely time of trouble
is when they are moved.
