Vintage Theodore Haviland Creamer And Underplate – Made In Limoges, France:
This is an elegant set of Haviland China that was made in Limoges, France. It includes a creamer and an underplate/bowl. The creamer measures approximately 2 ½” in height by 5 ¼” in diameter, including handle and spout. The underplate/bowl is approximately 1” in height by 5 1/8” in diameter. Both pieces feature bright white ground decorated with a cabbage rose floral motif and gold trim. The pattern on the creamer is called, “Belfort”. I was unable to determine the pattern on the underplate but it is quite similar and compliments the design on the creamer. Both pieces display a red, “Theodore Haviland – Limoges – France” backstamp and a faint “T H” incised mark, indicating that the date of production was around 1925. Despite wear to the gold trim, some manufacturing flaws, a few minor scuffs/scratches and a tiny nick on the underside of the bowl’s rim, this set is in good condition with no other evidence of damage.
