A very nice original and authentic Gerald Ford Vice President Parker 45 pen. This is a very rare item as President Ford was one of the shortest serving Vice Presidents in the history of the United States, therefore there were very few items made with his name and the Vice Presidential Seal. The pen and box has the old style Vice Presidential seal that was in use prior to it being changed under President Ford and Vice President Rockefeller in 1975. The pen does not have a cartridge.

There are virtually no records on early vice presidential seals, but there were versions in use as early as 1846 and almost certainly earlier as well. There was no official definition of a vice presidential seal until 1948, and today\'s version dates from 1975 when it was redesigned under President Ford.
