This is an original Victorian Era Valentines Day card. It is NOT a reproduction. During the 1890-1920's elaborate Valentine's Day cards were all the rage. They were made with lace, honeycomb paper, scraps of die cut images such as flowers, animals, children, angels, women and hearts. Often they are layered and have paper springs between the layers to give them a popped out 3-D look. Since most people during this era signed the card with only their names on the back they make a perfect card to give to your sweetie for Valentines! Guaranteed to be authentic and old!
This gorgeous Victorian Valentine is from the 1900-1910's era. Front of card says "Too my Valentine" then when you pull down the cardboard it opens to a beautiful dimensional card. It is 4 layers deep. On the back layer is cardboard, the next layer is a picture of an angel and flowers and at the top it says "To My Valentine". The next layer are two children holding bouquets of flowers. The front layer is a large paper scrap of a rose with a small honeycomb paper ball. All layers still firmly attached, back cardboard layer has a few tears. When opened it measures about 5 x 7 x 4 inches.
