Up for your offerding consideration, we are offering this rare original U.S. 5th Marines Iwo Jima beach landing information sheet. Front of sheet is marked with the original hand-written date and time of the scheduled landing. The 5th Marines raised the American Flag on Mt. Surabachi during this invasion, depicted in one of the most well known WW2 photos. Very few of these restricted documents have survived. Reverse side features a map of the island, showing two airfields and the beach assault locations, also a larger scale map of the Central Pacific islands. From the estate of a WW2 veteran, sheet has been well preserved. Very minor soiling on map side, with typical fold line creases. Measures 9 1/2" by 14". A scarce original piece of WW2 famous battle memorabilia, will make an excellent addition to your archive, museum or collection! Please email me with any questions or comments you may have.
