Vintage Western Red Cedar "the Killer Whale Story" Totem Plaque From Pacific Nw:
$10

I love indigenous folk art and lore from the Pacific Northwest. This is a vintage wall plaque made from western red cedar. Both the gorgeous totem art and the beautiful wood were very important to the culture of the Pacific Northwest Coast Indian. Not only does this plaque exemplify their unique art on the front, it also tells the story of that totem on the back. This is "The Killer Whale Story". Rich and colorful on the front with an incised grooved ring approximately a half-inch inward. Warm patina to the wood. The back story is painted in black. The maker of this plaque indicates that it may also be used as a tray, however I wouldn't use it for that purpose. The painted surface would be ruined. There is a horizontal groove on the back for hanging. Handcrafted in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, by Panorama Products Ltd. Measures 12" X .5". There are a few scuffs, dings and a very few small spots of paint loss on the painting. Please see the photos for these minimal issues. It's still fantastic.
