Vintage FOLK ART Hand Carved WoodSMILING FACE Head Statue Bust With FrameDescription: We purchased this wood carving from a local estate severalyears ago. It is made of dark wood and depicts a man\'s smiling face with teeth and a full beard. The carving lays \"flat\" and measures 4\" tall by 3\" wide and does not appear to be signed. The piece was originally \"glued\" to a burlap style matte and placed in a wooden frame. We believe the frame to be also hand carved and created specifically for the carving. It measures 6 1/4\" tall by 4 1/4\" wide. At the lower right corner of the matte appears to be the word \"Elmer\" written inpencil. When we recently removed the carving fromstorage, it came loose from the matte. That\'s when we discovered it had a substantial amount of dry glue residue onthe back (see pic #6). We have notattempted to remove the glue so as to not damage the carving. Condition: Overall condition is very good. There is only one \"verysmall\" white dot located to the right of the figure\'s mouth which can be easily covered. There are also no scratches or gauge marks on the front. Otherthan the dried glue on back, we see no damage to the carving. The frame is in also very good condition with no damage or flaws present. Shipping is $5.00 by USPS first class mail.
