This is an excellent example of Zia Pueblo Pottery done by Eushebia Shije born in 1930. She has been an award winning potter and has won the award at the Santa Fe Indian Market in 1980 and 1981 for the best traditional Zia pottery. She also won the Indian Arts Fund Award for overall excellence in 1984 , and first, second, and third place at the Indian Market for several years.

This is a wonderful storage jar. There are 4 design panels which are each framed in a rainbow arch and contain a Zia bird or other traditional items. It is signed on the bottom.

Condition: There is a spot on the outer rim of jar which can be seen in picture #4 if you enlarge and look closely, which is more like a dent than any thing else I can think of. It is not a true chip because it is intact. Structurally the jar is in excellent condition. There are some minor spots with spalling, but nothing of significance. This is a very nice, beautiful jar.

Size: approx. 7 1/4\" tall x 6 1/4\" wide

This piece came from the estate of a well known geographer who traveled all over the world and collected the finest art works for his personal collection, much of which has historical value as well.
