Vintage Antique Early Merrythought Teddy Bear With Label And Button, 1930s 25" For Sale
Gorgeous antique vintage early Merrythought teddy bear dating from early 1930s, bearing original earliest Merrythought label which omits "hygienic" and button,
made of golden mohair,
feels to be stuffed with kapok throughout the body and wood-wool in the muzzle,
fully jointed,
has got dark orange and black glass eyes,
original black vertically stitched nose with outer stitches pointing down,
inverted Y shape mouth stitching,
original felt pads in quite good condition with some general wear to feet,
remains of original felt pads to paws with most of felt being replaced,
original four webbed claws stitched to paws, three claws to feet large inoperative squeaker.Original woven label reading "Made in England by Merrythought Ltd" stitched to the left foot pad, celluloid button in his left ear is in well loved condition with celluloid missing and only metal button left.
Teddy is approx. 25'' tall.
Condition - teddy bear is in good vintage condition with some general wear, thinning and small balding patches on his torso.
