Vintage/antique Cebco Hot Nut Vending Machine/mechanically Sound, wiring Bad For Sale
Here's a 1930's CEBCO Hot Nut Machine. I believe this one is in better shape than the last one we just sold was. I didn't look at them first, I just grabbed the closest one and cleaned it up for the pictures, that's all. Then it turns out, this one I'm selling HERE is in better shape. The nut jars have no chips and they have at least 95% of the decals originally applied on them. There's some really small spots where the label has begun flaking off but they're still mostly there.AGAIN, please look at the pictures. And as you can see in pictures#5&6 the wiring is complete and original but in bad shape and probably the reason the electric nut heater elements do not work for this unit. It's complete and the hand cranks work fine so you could use it to dispense nuts right now but if you want them hot, you'll have to get an electrician to rewire it as the wires are old, dry rotted and even burnt crispy in one spot. All this damage is shown in the above pictures. Also, please look closely at the jars as they're perfect! They have both sets of decals, all original and no chips or cracks! Some of the decals edges have worn off but the company name/logo is clean and clear on the glass and the body of the machine as is all the writing from the factory. This one has the paper cup hopper included and I'll even throw in the paper cups you see! The cup hopper is in great shape and that's a REALLY hard to find item for these nut machines since it's a glass globe and very brittle, many of these were broken during use.And since replacements would probably be handmade, good luck finding one out there. The cup hopper for this machine is about as close to perfect as you're going to get with an approximately 80+ year old vending machine! And when new, it was about $250 to replace JUST THE CUP HOPPER! This was in the early 80's. And I'm starting the offerding at $300 for the WHOLE MACHINE! Scoop this one up before it's GONE because when THIS one is gone, there's no more complete ones left, this is the LAST COMPLETE CEBCO MACHINE LEFT and the only one on , PERIOD. As I said before it's a totally complete item too, and needs nothing but electrically restored and some nuts! The body/case is in almost perfect condition for it being a 80+ year old item so PLEASE just look at the pictures and ASK QUESTIONS like I beg of you all. Harmony Cycle is the ONLY STORE on you'll find these machines in this condition, for sale but this doesn't mean we know everything about them, we're learning too soo PLEASE ask me questions if you have them and I'll go out of my way, and bend over backwards to help you all you have for this awesome personalized service is ASK ME FOR HELP...Also, I'm charging $60 for shipping to the domestic United States and IF THERE'S CHANGE LEFT OVER FROM THE SHIPPING, I'LL RETURN IT TO YOU, MINUS A $2.00 HANDLING FEE. I'll return this change to you after the item has been shipped and after response has been left. This is because the item is NOT MINE so I must have response from you the buyer, before I can pay my client. This of course is IF THERE'S CHANGE LEFT TO GIVE. I'll use as much of the $60 as I can for a SAFE, INSURED shipment. And for example, the last one of these machines went to California and the shipping through USPS and fully insured was $50.36 TOTAL. And the item was not only fine, but I got an AMAZING email from the buyer, thanking me for the fantastic packing and shipping job, TRUST ME, we can follow through and more importantly, we can be TRUSTED to give you the best, personalized service you can find on . I always return the shipping change on large items, please ask any of my many happy customer's!When buying/offerding on this item please be sure to read the listing and ask me questions if you have any. Please don't just buy items without researching them, this is totally without common sense and ALWAYS leads to problems. Just ask me questions, please! I'll be MORE than happy to help you out in ANY way you need. Nobodies going to buy it out from under you unless you let them so you have 5 days to ask me questions! Then, when the sale's over, you'll have made an educated decision. Also, I can only fit 12 pictures here but I have MANY more so if you want to see an area better, JUST ASK ME!! And TELL ME where you want to see better when asking so I know WHERE to take pics of for you! This is a REALLY OLD, antique item that has been used and DOES NOT WORK electrically right now. BUT the mechanical parts, the hoppers and crank handles all work and work very clen and crisp, no sticking up. So really you could have it out in your den, man-cave, garage or office and get nuts or whatever out of it all day, all I'm saying is "broken" is the wiring, the rest of the machine is perfect. But I'm sure anyone with half a brain could fix it since it's only TWO WIRES inside, it's not like looking under the hood on your new car! So it's either this wire or that one!~(or possibly the switch itself?) I'M NOT AN ELECTRICIAN! I CAN ONLY TELL YOU I TRIED TO PLUG IT IN AND NOTHING HAPPENED WHEN I TURNED THE SWITCH OFF AND ON A COUPLE TIMES. SO I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BECAUSE IT'S NOT THE BULB, IT HAS ALL THE FILAMENTS IN PLACE AND WORKS IN ANOTHER SOCKET, JUST NOT IN THIS MACHINE.This is a non-returnable item, please be sure of what you're buying and the only way to do that is to ASK QUESTIONS. The only stupid question is one NOT asked in this situation! Online shopping has it's own rules, whether it's on or... Since you cannot hold and measure the item yourself, it's up to the seller to HONESTLY represent the item being sold. And I feel I've done that here, but if there's anything I'm missing, or some detail you as a collector think I should point out, or make more obvious, PLEASE tell me!I'll do anything under the Sun to help you out so there's NO reason not to ask for help. I always answer my buyers VERY quickly and your question will be handled with the same care and RESPECT I handle ALL buyer's questions with!Happy offerding! And if you need ANY help whatsoever, it's up to you to ask, I cannot read your mind!On Mar-29-13 at 11:53:51 PDT, seller added the following information:
I just had a couple questions I had to answer for folks and they were basic questions I forgot to just add into the listing when writing. The first question was,"What's the size of the machine?" Well, the overall measurements are: 18" tall not counting the cup hopper, just add another inch to it for that. It's 11-3/4" wide at the base and 5-7/8" deep also measured at the base. And the weight UNPACKED is 14.85 pounds. The cup hopper alone is 13-3/4" tall x 4" wide at the metal ring and the glass tube is exactly 3" wide by itself. Now when I pack it, I disassemble the top part and wrap the jars separately, tape the gaskets down and pack it for BATTLE so the unpacked dimensions will be no use if you're going to haggle over the shipping price. The last one which was exactly the same as this one cost $50.36 to ship to California AND here's the important part, if there's change left over from the shipping fee, I will return it to you minus a $2 handling and supply fee. IF there's change from the shipping, IF. And I print the shipping labels with the price RIGHT ON THEM so you know exactly how much it cost. No bullshit here folks. Then the second question was, "Does this machine come with keys?" A: Yes it does, two keys, one for the top and the other for the back/bottom. They are NOT original CEBCO keys though but trust me, if you lose one, you'll have a hell of a time finding one! It took me 6 hardware stores to find the BLANK KEY to copy one that was broken almost in half then it was a pain in the butt to copy with it broken. So whether they're real CEBCO keys or not is irrelevant when it took forever to find a COPY! Trust me, this machine is really rare. That's all though and if there's other questions I'll try to answer them here before the offerding is over.PLEASE ASK ME QUESTIONS IF YOU'RE NOT SURE OF ANYTHING!!!!!
