A stunning, spirited, one-of-a-kind multi-turquoise silver panel and heishi necklace by renowned award winning Kewa artisan Tony (Anthony) Aguilar (d.), 1919-2002, resident of the Santo Domingo Pueblo, noted for his talent in combining various materials. This necklace is a wonderful combination of squared turquoise stones set into sterling silver panels or boxes, with 3 strands of handcut turquoise heishi, interspersed with jet and coral beads here and there, as well as silver beads as spacers near the center. The back of the center silver/turquoise panel and the backs of the rounded silver clasps are stamped with his "A under a bar" hallmark. He has won numerous awards at Indian Market, Santa Fe, and his work is highly collected. He hand rolled his beads and worked in natural turquoise. This necklace is composed of the handcut turquoise beads and 4 rectangular silver panels, each of which measures 1" X 3/4". The larger center trapezoidal silver panel measures 1 3/8" X 1".Necklace measures a straight length of 22", with a 12" doubled drop length. Total weight is 108 grams. Excellent vintage and collectable condition.
