Vtg 1920's Art Nouveau Signed Peruzzi Sterling Silver Filigree Lapis Necklace
This sale is for a finely made and beautifully designed, sterling and natural Lapis necklace, that was made by Peruzzi during the 1920's - 30's.This necklace is marked on the back of the necklace "Peruzzi" and "sterling". The necklace measures 16 1/2" long, the central pendant is 2 3/8" long, and the necklace closes securely with its original spring ring clasp. This piece is unique for its delicate and detailed silverwork, there are pretty flowers and scrolls that are textured to give a very fine shimmer. Three strands at the front of the necklace move freely which gives the necklace a subtle amount of movement and sway when worn. The pretty pendants and silverwork extend to the chain links so the necklace has a lot of charm and visual interest. The pendants at the front of the necklace are accented with natural Lapis stones that range slightly in size (around 1/2" in length) and all have a very full and domed shape that juts out from the base of the setting. There are no irregularities to the stones, the surfaces are smooth with a high sheen, and they have a nice variety of color and natural marbling. There are no irregularities to the silver, no signs of solder or repair, and the piece has a very bright patina that shows off the detail. Overall this is a finely made and beautifully designed, sterling and natural Lapis necklace, that was made by Peruzzi during the 1920's - 30's that is in Excellent condition.
