Contains nice article and pictures pertaining to The United States Air Force (USAF) service dress jacket (Ike Jacket) 1949-1964. The Blue Shade 84 wool fabric jacket for sale is dated (slightly faded), named (2 initials & last name, hand written ink), and contains fancy letter sewn initials (possibly J.D.G. or I.D.G.). Some fancy letters the J and I look nearly identical. But, I believe it\'s a J. The hand writing on tag looks like an I though. Please see up-close pics of label (3 pics total). Last name on tag faded at parts, looks like Goddel. Jacket 2nd design/new style or mix of 1st design/2nd design Ike, made privately/custom in USA by A. Jacobs & Sons, Baltimore, Maryland Uniforms Since 1891 (see tag pics), possibly officer or higher rank. Features Talon zipper front, snap at lapel above zipper, 2 snaps/1 button concealed front closure at bottom, 1 button cuffs, 2 snap pockets w/ flaps, 1 snap closure for shoulder flaps/sewn at ends, 2 button side/rear adjustment tabs, pleated lower back, 2 pockets inside. \"New style\" authorized for wear on March 15, 1952. Please see 12 pictures for authenticity, tag details, monogram sewn initials, overall condition and style, lapel cut-horizontal?, etc. Very rare early Air Force/Korean War era uniform jacket. One of the early one\'s, very rare custom design and maker. Measures 20\" pit to pit flat/zipped, 11.5\" fabric pit to middle, 25\" sleeve length, 4.5\" arm openings flat-buttoned, 22\" hem, 6\" shoulder, 12\" pit to bottom on sides, 21.5\" L back middle (roughly 23\" w/ collar, 18\" shoulder to shoulder across upper back flat, features inside shoulder pads, black fabric loop for hanging.
