For sale is a vintage Chinese scroll with a water color painting of Zhong Koi with a demon under his foot. Also there is some Chinesecalligraphypresent. This piece is signed by the artist. I believe the blue border around the art to be silk, and the remaining off white border has flowers that appear when the light hits it right. This piece is in overall great shape although there are a few minor creases here and there, nothing significant. There are no rips or tears present that I am aware of. There may be a few tiny dirty spots from this piece being unrolled and then rolled back up over time.
I am not exactly sure the age of this piece, nor can I read Chinese so I cannot tell you what the calligraphy says. I had aChinesefriend tell me that this image depicts Zhong Kui the deity of 80,000 ghosts and demons, according to Chinese mythology. Zhong Kui vowed to be a vanquisher of evil spirits.
Scroll measures 6 feet tall and is 22\" wide.
