The rose on this brooch has an amazing profile of almost 1\" high. I\'m pleasantly surprised to see what a difference this makes in showing up on clothing. It is white molded celluloid with a black coating made to look deeply carved. You can see the white underneath the black on the back. The back is also lovely with a hammered pattern and edging. There are 3 leaves backing up the rose. This pin is shiny gold tone with dark antiquing in the recesses. It is intended to invoke happy memories of a lost loved one or all those we miss. Following the Victorian tradition of memory pieces. 99% of the black coloring is intact, great vintage condition.
