This is a relatively heavy gold metal powder compact, probably dating back to the 1950s. The lid features many many amber-colored rhinestones in various shapes, cuts, sizes, and shades (yellow to russet). You see a small decorative gold "rope" around the perimeter. And also, it appears that all these stones were applied by hand. The back of the compact continues with the gold metal. Overall condition is excellent. I do not believe this was used very much, if at all!

The compact measures 2⅜" down by just under 2⅞" across. Inside, you see an excellent glued mirror, very clear and totally useable. The body of the compact has a closed or lidded well or compartment for holding loose face powder. However, there currently is no powder in the well (I emptied it out). The original semi-permanent lining is present, as well as the original cloth-topped powder pad. The pad does not appear to have been used.

As indicated above, overall condition is excellent. I see NO dents or dimples or anything else wrong with the metal. All the stones are there and shine brilliantly - which is remarkable for such an old hinged metal case. Even the underside is in GREAT condition, with only a few usage marks.
