This is a nice, vintage smoker\'s stand. Now days people have been using them to hold keys and wallets.I\'m not a smoker, but It worked well in my 50s bathroom holding either soap or hand towels.This one isTurquoise & Goldceramic. The stand is about 29\" tall. The base is about 11\" diameter. I sanded and repainted the metal base because of scratches and pitting. The rest if the metal was left original. It has the original gold flakes in the turquoise which make it look nice and glittery.
I\'ve have seen a couple from the same company \"MID STATE FDRY CO, CHARLESTON, ILL\" for sale on but mine doesn\'t have any markings and mine has a more ornate bottom ceramic than the others I\'ve seen. I have also not seen another Turquoise one.
There is minor wear, looks like three very tiny chips that a long time ago someone dabbed paint on to cover. There is an old crack repair on the bottom ceramic piece, see photo. The leaf glaze has vintage crazing and under the leaf where nobody can see is a non-impact hairline crack. I do not believe that this would compromise the tray in any way.
Very Retro, very 50s mid century modern and the color screams mid 50s!
