Inspired by the 101, the 9196 Postman chukka iscrafted with Black Chaparral leather, full leather linings, and a black cushioncrepe and wedge outsole for a classic look. This is the original vintage shoeand it is believed that these are from the 1970?s. THEHISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE
Designed to meet Postal Service requirements,the 101 is sturdy, sleek and simplistic and these characteristics servedAmerica?s mailmen well. First introduced in 1954, Red Wing expands on thisstyle with the more casual variations. Built using the same leather upper asthe 101 including a dog tail, blind eyelets and a Goodyear Welt. The cushioncrepe outsole gives these boots as much comfort as the 101, allowing for thelonger walks, as a postman would.Condition:
This aregently pre-owned and are in great vintage condition. The uppers look excellentwith just some minor creasing in the forefoot areas and a few small surface scuffsand scratches. The soles have only minimal wear. There is some wear on the inside of the shoesand heel savers have been placed around the back heels due to wear. (see pics) Theseshoes have recently been cleaned and polished. Sorry, these do not come withthe original box.
